I just wanted to say that Sunday was my second triathlon and my first sea swim. I recently competed in the long-established Thames Turbo earlier in May which is a well organised event on the London circuit. I was impressed by Sunday and thought Sundried compared really well. The atmosphere and support was excellent, transition was well laid out and the course and exit/entry points were really well marshalled and well sign posted. As the first Southend tri I was somewhat cautious about how smoothly it would run especially for a beginner like me (who also has no sense of direction!!). I thought the marshals and officials were clear, friendly, approachable and really encouraging and the whole event was a great experience. Personally I would have liked to have kept my swim hat as a memento from my first sea swim and my goodie bag was really a just flap jack but that would just be me being picky!! Thanks for a great weekend, I'll recommend it to friends at the club and will almost certainly be back next year. Well done!!!

This should be an annual event. Everyone involved from the voluntary marshalls to the official marshalls, Virgin Active giving out water and encouragement, trinswimwell with the wetsuits, all gave support to anyone that needed it. For many it was their first tri and I think it won't be their last. I have read the negative comments about the bike leg but it was always advertised as being on public roads and to follow the Highway Code. Sometimes you have to use your brakes!! Overall, a brilliant experience, give it a tri!!

Amazing atmosphere for my first triathlon, absolutely loved it. Great supportive volunteers, though you might want a Marshall on those traffic lights for next year! :)
